An anti bacterial soap will help eliminate the sandal smell. Wash your sandals occasionally with a bit of anti bacterial soap and enough water to help apply it. You do not want to soak the sandals. leather does not wear well if wet to much and too often. Leave in the sun to dry. The sun kills bacteria very effectively.
