Windows Search is Microsoft’s extremely thorough search engine that will grab any file on your computer with a minimal amount of effort. Unfortunately, it will twist and turn through every file and folder on your computer, sometimes grabbing personal files that you may want to remain private, such as Internet Explorer history records. Luckily, it is easy to remove your Internet Explorer history files from Windows Search. Then your windows search will be more refined and less revealing. Open the Start menu and type “search.” Choose “Change how Windows Searches” from the list of that appears. This will show you every section in your computer that Windows Search runs through, including “Internet Explorer History.” Choose “Modify” at the bottom of the window.
