How Do You Remove Interior Stucco Paint?
Stucco is an aggregate plaster surface used to coat interior and exterior walls. It is commonly applied to homes for its decorative design, adding texture and dimension to a room. Like other wall surfaces, interior stucco can easily be painted any desired color. The process of removing the paint from stucco, however, is a more demanding task. Because of its textured surface, interior stucco requires specific treatment for paint removal. Empty the room where the painted stucco wall is located. Ventilate the area and line the floor with a tarp or waterproof canvas. Cover your eyes with protective goggles before operating the pressure washer. Begin spraying the wall at a low pressure setting, gradually increasing the pressure until the paint appears to loosen. Take extreme care not to apply excessive pressure on any one section of the stucco; even small cracks could lead to moisture penetrating the underlying structure of the wall. Inspect the bare wall for any damage or remaining paint.
