Once the pen explodes during the course of the drying cycle, not only are you left with ink-stained clothing, but an ink-stained dryer drum as well. Most dryer drums are coated with enamel or porcelain and therefore are not extremely permeable–the ink left behind may simply be baked onto the surface by the dryer’s heat. To thoroughly remove ink stains from the dryer requires a lot of elbow grease and use of the right cleaning products. Unplug the dryer. Make sure that the drum is completely cool before you get to work as many all-purpose cleaners are flammable when exposed to heat. Mix together a diluted solution of water and soap (such as dishwashing detergent). Make sure the solution is barely viscous as you’ll have to rinse it out of the dryer drum after you’ve completed your cleaning. Dampen a sponge or cleaning rag in the solution, and scrub off what ink you can
