How Do You Remove Ink & Marker From Carpet?
When you discover the accidental exposure of ink on carpet, it is important to begin cleaning the stain as quickly as possible. There are several chemical solvents available on the market, but a less expensive alternative is Isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol works best at the 90 percent concentration level and is most effective when it is worked slowly and carefully into the carpet fibers. Take a clean white cloth and pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol on one corner of the cloth. Roll the cloth so that the alcohol soaked corner of the cloth is ready to use on the carpet. Dab the corner of the cloth on the stained area gently. Don’t use the cloth to scrub the carpet as this will spread the ink. Adjust the wet area of the cloth so that there is a new wet but clean area to continue the dabbing. Adjust the direction of the cleaning to get all sides of the carpet fibers.
