How Do You Remove Hot Glue From Glass?
A craft project such as a frame involves the use of glass and hot glue. Sometimes during the crafting process, hot glue may accidentally hit an area of the glass. An unfortunate property of hot glue is that it dries very quickly, making it hard to remove and leaving stains that could ruin the look of a project. There are instruments and techniques, however, that remove glue from glass. Fill a basin with hot water, just enough for the glass to withstand. Submerge the glass in the water for about 15 minutes. This will soften the glue. Avoid placing an extremely cold glass suddenly into incredibly hot water, as the immediate temperature change will expand the glass too quickly and cause it to crack. Take the glass out of the basin. Run the glued area under running water to cool it. The gradual temperature change turns the glue brittle, allowing the weaker glue bits to fall off while loosening the larger pieces. Use the utility knife to gently scrape off more of the glue bits.
