How Do You Remove Hard Water Stains In The Shower?

0

Mineral stains in shower stalls are caused by excessive amounts of iron, calcium and magnesium in a home’s water supply. Stainless steel, fiberglass, porcelain, glass and tile shower surfaces are susceptible to hard water stains. Hard water stains chemically react with soaps to form scaly, white deposits on surfaces. Water stains become harder to remove the longer they remain on shower walls and fixtures. Promptly remove hard water stains to preserve the shower’s aesthetic appeal and maintain a sanitary bathroom environment. Fill a plastic bowl with 1/2 cup of baking soda. Stir in 1/4 cup of white vinegar to create a paste the consistency of cake icing. Spread the paste over the hard water stains using a rubber spatula. Allow the paste to soak into the stains for 1 hour. Dampen a nonabrasive sponge with warm water. Scrub the shower surfaces with the moist sponge to wash away the paste and remove the water stains. Frequently rinse the sponge with fresh water to prevent reapplying grime
