How Do You Remove Hard Water Stains From Dishes?
It’s hard to impress company when your dishes are covered in unsightly hard-water stains. Hard water leaves behind mineral deposits on whatever it touches, such as bathroom fixtures and dishes. Though harmless, these stains tend to detract from the overall appearance and feel of dishes. Removing them is simple if you have a few minutes to spare and a little bit of white vinegar handy. Cover the drain in your sink to keep the water in, and gently set the affected dishes into it. Fill the sink with hot water to cover the dishes, making sure that they are completely submerged. Pour in one or two cups of white vinegar. Add bleach-free dish soap to make the water sudsy; 1 to 2 tbsp. should do it. Allow the dishes to soak in the water for 15 minutes. Drain the water from the sink and wash each dish with warm, soapy water to remove any residual hard-water stains. Rinse the dishes well with warm water. Dry the dishes with a soft, clean dry towel before putting them away.
