How Do You Remove Hard Water Spots From Car Windows?
Hard water marks develop on car windows from water left to dry on the glass in the sun. Hard water contains iron, calcium and other mineral substances that form white marks on glass when they dry. The sun bakes these minerals onto the glass; the longer they remain, the harder they are to remove. Clean the water marks from your car windows as soon as you notice them. Mix a solution of one part water and two parts white vinegar into a bucket. The acidic properties in the vinegar eat away at the hard mineral deposits, allowing for easier removal. Apply the vinegar solution to the hard water spots on the car windows with a large sponge. Allow the vinegar wash to remain on the water marks for five minutes. Rub the stains gently with a large sponge or soft cloth. Apply more of the vinegar solution if stains are difficult to wash off. Rinse the car windows with fresh water from a bucket or garden hose.
