How Do You Remove Gum From Carpet Or Fabric?

Carpet fibers are quick to grab hold of sticky substances, so regular cleaners won’t help you clean up that mess. Although it might sound like a strange idea, peanut butter can be helpful in removing gum from carpet fibers. The oily peanut butter loosens the gum so it isn’t sticky, and you can wipe it away with relative ease. Use a butter knife or other rounded tip metal device to scrape away what you can so that you don’t have large chunks of gum still stuck to the carpet. It can be helpful to use an ice cube to freeze the gum first, and then scrape it away. Spread a small amount of peanut butter onto the leftover bits of gum. Only apply to the places where gum is stuck, to save you from more cleaning later. The layer of peanut butter only needs to be an eighth to a quarter of an inch thick on top of the gum. A
