Grease or oil stains can be very annoying. If you get a little salad dressing on your shirt, it may seem like you can never wear that shirt again (unless dark blotches come into style). Here is a surprisingly easy way to remove almost any grease or oil stain – it works especially well if the origin of the stain was food. You won’t even have to buy anything. Ideally, you should do this before the garment has been laundered. If, like me, you have just tossed it back into the hamper for a re-washing 3 or 4 times, that’s ok – it can still be saved. Lay the garment out on a flat surface, with the stain facing up. If the cloth is thin, stick a piece of cardboard between the layers of cloth to protect the surface under the garment. Put a tiny dot of dish soap (like Dawn – remember all those ‘cuts grease!’ claims?) on each spot that has been stained. Rub the soap in with a little scrub brush (an old toothbrush is awesome) or even just your fingers. Launder the garment as usual. The dish soap w
