How Do You Remove Glue Labels From Bottles?
Most glass bottles come with a glued-on label designed to stick to the glass surface for a long time. This strong glue becomes a problem when you wish to remove the labels from the glass. To get rid of the glue labels and the underlying glue adhesive, you must use cleaning ingredients that remove the glue without damaging the glass itself. Heat up the labels with a hair dryer. Turn the hair dryer onto a low-heat setting, and hold it approximately 5 inches away from the bottle label. Heat the label for 15 seconds at a time. Peel away at the label, starting at one side and working to the other. Soak the bottle in hot water if you prefer not to use a hair dryer. Fill the sink with hot water, place the bottle into the water label-side down, and let it soak for 20 minutes. Peel away the label after soaking. Pour a light drizzle of vegetable oil over any remaining adhesive, and scrub with a cleaning rag. The oil will break up and remove any leftover glue adhesive. Rinse the bottle with water
