How Do You Remove Gasoline Odors & Stains From Clothing?
Few things smell as bad as having a gasoline odor on clothing. Couple that with gasoline stains, and clothing can become downright disgusting. For difficult stains and odors present on clothing due to working with gasoline, use natural and commercial cleaners for a two-pronged cleaning attack. Most of the items for this cleaning process can already be found in your home. Sprinkle baking soda or cornstarch on the stained fabric area. Alternatively, make a similar paste with powdered laundry detergent and some water and apply to the area. Allow to sit for 30 minutes. Not only will this help to absorb the gas stain, it will help to freshen the fabric. After 30 minutes, brush off the baking soda, cornstarch or powdered detergent with a soft brush. If the stain is still visible, repeat the process of applying the baking soda or cornstarch until most of the stain is gone. Brush off any residual soda or cornstarch. Spray the stained area with a laundry stain remover spray. Let it sit for five
