At first glance, felt-tip pen ink stains can seem almost impossible to remove from fabrics and surfaces of tables and furniture. But before you spend money to have stained items professionally cleaned, try getting the stains out yourself. It’s simpler than you think. With a few household items and careful pretreatment and laundering techniques, you can make fabric look like new in no time. Measure one shot glass full of vodka. Pour the vodka over the center of the stain. The alcohol content of the vodka will penetrate the ink stain. Use a gentle cloth to buff the stain in small circular motions. Buffing the stain allows the vodka to penetrate the ink stain for easy removal. Allow the stain to penetrate for five minutes. Wipe with another clean buffing cloth Spray some hairspray on fabrics such as tablecloths, pants and shirts in addition to the vodka treatment. Pretreat washable fabrics with laundry detergent before washing.
