How Do You Remove Extra Slats From Wood Blinds?
Wood blinds are elegant additions to any home decor and provide a basic function at the same time. These blinds can be expensive; and if you know how to make alterations and repairs yourself, it can be more economical in the long run. If your blinds are too long and you would like to custom fit the length, remove the extra slats from your wood blinds. It is quite simple to shorten horizontal blinds, and it just takes basic tools. Determine the length you would like the wood blinds to be and make sure you do not cut them too short. Pop off the small plugs underneath the bottom rail with a screwdriver. Keep them in a safe place for later. Remove the blind lift cord from the bottom rail by undoing the knot or cutting it with scissors if necessary. Slide out the extra slats from the string ladders that are holding them. Make sure you do not go above the desired length.
