How do you remove enamel paint from craft brushes?
Enamel paint dries with an extremely hard and glossy finish.
-
Pour a generous amount of turpentine solvent into a fairly deep container. Soak the bristles of the brush in the solvent for about 30 minutes. It is not necessary to soak the handle.
-
Work the solvent into the bristles to release the enamel paint. Pass a comb through the bristles to remove any congealed paint.
-
Press as much solvent out of the bristles as possible and repeat the process. Do this about three times or until there is no more paint on the bristles.
-
Pour clean solvent into a different container and wash the brush until you have clean bristles. Use a knife to scrape off any paint from the handle of the brush. Store the brush away.
