How Do You Remove Easter Egg Dye From Clothes?
Many children look forward to dying Easter eggs. Water is poured into cups and a tablet of dye is added. After a minute or two, the solution is ready for use. When an egg is dropped into the cup, it makes the water level rise and sometimes the dyed water spills out. Children can end up with Easter egg dye on their clothes, but parents can get the dye out if they act within the first 24 hours. As soon as possible after the spill, remove the piece of clothing that has the Easter egg dye on it and spray the dyed areas with hairspray. Be generous with the hairspray, getting it all the way into the fibers of the clothing. Hairspray can remove some of the toughest stains, including black ink stains. Let the hairspray remain on the clothing for 5 to 10 minutes. Turn your washing machine on. Use the hot water setting. As the washing machine is filling up, add vinegar and laundry detergent. Place the clothing with Easter egg dye on it in the washing machine and close the lid to start the cycle.
