Once the grout application process is complete, the tile must be cleaned immediately. This cleaning serves two purposes. The first is the definition of the grout joints between tiles. The second is to ensure that the grout does not leave a film residue on the surface of the tile. This grout haze on the tile is an expected occurrence, but can be difficult to remove if allowed to dry for too long. The haze can be removed with the use of acid-based chemicals or with water. The use of water is recommended prior to the use of chemicals. Fill both buckets about three-quarters full of water. Place one grout sponge in each bucket and allow to soak for three to five minutes. Use one bucket for cleaning and the other for the final rinse. This will prevent grout residue, which will build up in the cleaning bucket, from being reapplied to the tile. Use a drop cloth to cover surfaces that you do not wish to get wet, soiled, or stained with grout. Wring out the cleaning water sponge and leave about
