As the masking tape is a paper adhesive, most glue removal products can soak through the paper to the adhesive below breaking the tape’s bond to the glass. Scrape away the tape with your plastic or metal scraper if the glass is flat and undecorated. If the glass has grooves or waves, use a non-scratch scouring pad or sponge with a non-toxic glass cleaner and then dry. Step 2 Heat the tape mark and soften the adhesive bond with a hair dryer. Hold the hair dryer approximately 2 inches from the mark moving the dryer in a circular pattern over the mark. Remove the tape, clean and dry.
