Although the myth prevails that acrylic paints cannot be removed and the clothing or material must be thrown out, there are a few steps you can take to salvage your clothing or blankets. Luckily, you can do this using simple household materials. Place the fabric with the stain under the tap and run warm water directly over the stain. Don’t get carried away. Just let enough run to wet the fabric a little bit. Lay your fabric on a hard surface, such as a table, ironing board or washing machine. Apply rubbing alcohol to cotton balls and generously smear over the stain. Alternately, spray some hairspray from the can directly and generously over the stain.
