A new message appeared to Internet Explorer users after the upgrade to version 8 of the software. “Download Windows Search to improve history and favorites results” prompts you to download Windows Search whenever you type something into the address bar. Microsoft’s solution for getting rid of the message is to download, install and activate Windows Search, but you can hide the message without downloading the additional software. Click “Start,” type “cmd” and press “Enter” to launch the command prompt.
