How Do You Remove Crayon Stains From Carpet?
Crayons and carpet do not go together. Once a mark is made, the stain can be difficult to remove. Here are some steps to help you get rid of the unsightly markings on your carpet should your little artist go outside the lines. Scrape off any excess crayon with the dull edge of a knife or your fingernail. Be careful not to create more of a mess. Spray the affected area of carpet with WD-40 or another car part lubricant. Leave it on for 3 minutes. Use the stiff bristle brush to scrub the stain. Wipe the area with paper towels. Respray the surface with the WD-40. Apply liquid dishwashing soap and water to the area. Continue to use the bristle brush and work the soap in a circular motion. Wipe the stain with a damp sponge. Repeat Steps 6 through 9 if necessary.
