I love chocolate, but not smashed in the carpet. There are lots of ways chocolate can end up on the floor. There is that spilled piece of chocolate birthday cake or the chocolate bar that one of kids dropped, and forgot to tell you. If chocolate gets into your carpet, try these steps to remove the stain. Scrape off as much of the surface chocolate as possible, without rubbing it into the carpet fibers. You want to remove as much as possible before attempting to wash the carpet. Combine the detergent and 2 cups of warm water and use the cloth to wash the stain. Blot the solution off with the second rag. Repeat steps until the chocolate is gone. Mix ammonia with 2 cups of warm water if the stain persists. Repeat steps 1 and 2 using this solution instead of the soap and water solution. Blot the carpet dry when the stain is removed.
