How Do You Remove Chalkboard Paint On A Brick?
Chalkboard is a special type of brush-on coating that allows you to turn virtually any type of surface into a chalkboard. Its incredible adhesive qualities allow it to be applied to concrete, wood, metal, masonry, drywall, plaster, and even glass. Unfortunately, once it gets on a surface, it can be extremely difficult to remove. If the chalkboard paint is still wet, remove it with simple mineral spirits and a coarse brush. Unfortunately, if you need to remove chalkboard paint from brick, and the paint is dry, you’ll have to use more extreme measures. Chip away as much of the chalkboard paint as you can with a metal putty knife. Apply mineral spirits to the chalkboard paint. Scrub the paint with a wire brush to loosen it. Scrub in a circular, counterclockwise motion. Allow the mineral spirits to evaporate so the surface is completely dry before you continue. Sand away any remaining chalkboard paint with 80-grit sandpaper.
