How Do You Remove Calipers On A Class C Motorhome?
Class C motorhomes are manufactured with truck or van front ends that use common disk braking systems typical to the model. These systems use hydraulic calipers that can wear out and fail, or require routine maintenance. The average backyard mechanic can remove the calipers from a motorhome in about an hour. Step 1 Raise the front end of the motorhome by placing the floor jack head onto a frame rail and pumping the lever until a wheel is off of the ground. Place a jack stand in a stable location on the frame rail, then release the jack. Repeat the procedure on the opposite wheel, and be sure to balance the jack stands to equalize the amount of weight they are required to lift. Step 2 Remove the front wheels by turning the lug nuts in a counterclockwise direction, then pulling the wheels free from the hubs. Place the wheels away from the work area.
