Step 1 Mix a few teaspoons of powdered dishwashing detergent into the pot with enough water to cover the burn stains. Step 2 Place the pot on the stove and heat it to boiling. Remove from heat and allow it to sit for half an hour. Step 3 Dump out the water and scrub the burn stains with the nylon scrubber. Stains inside the pan should lift away easily. Step 4 Fill the sink to the height of the pot with very hot water and add several teaspoons of powdered dish detergent. Place the pot in the water and let it sit overnight.
