Blood stains are usually difficult to remove from any surface. Blood stains on a leather surface can be even more difficult than the average blood stain. Leather can react to many different kinds of chemicals, stain removers and cleaning supplies. Furthermore, harsh cleaning methods can actually spread or make the blood stain worse. If you have blood on a leather jacket or couch, knowing how to best remove the blood stain is important. Mix a small amount of cold water with some mild liquid soap in a small bowl. You do not need to use a lot of soap in the mixture. Liquid soaps like dish detergent are mild enough for leather. Use a soft clean cloth to carefully apply the water and soap mixture to the blood stain on the leather. Carefully blot the stain with the soft cloth. Be careful not to rub the stain as rubbing can only make the blood set deeper into the leather. Blot until the stain starts to disappear. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to blot the stain dry. The leather should be complete
