How Do You Remove Bentonite Clay Turbidity From Water?

You could always filter it but then you knew that. A neat trick to remove clay minerals such as bentonite from still water is to add some lime (the mineral… not the fruit). The lime will flocculate the clay and it will settle to the bottom of the tank etc. I would be careful about doing this to a natural dam though. The clay bed normally provides a seal that holds the water in and adding lime can flocculate that clay too. That would be bad.
