The one thing to keep in mind when it comes to removing ink stains from cotton clothing is the sooner you try to remove it, the better. You can easily create your own cleaning solution from household items. Lay the garment out flat, and place the towel inside. Separating the two layers of fabric assures that only the stain will have cleaning solution applied to it and that it will not seep through to the other side of the shirt. Spray the stain with hairspray. Any hairspray will do. Hairspray chemicals help lift the stain from the material, breaking the bond between particles that creates the stain.
