Modern cars typically have power windows as an option, which use a small electric motor to turn the window regulator. This motor can wear out and will require replacement. Access to the motor is most of the job as it comes out rather easily once the door panel is removed. The average weekend mechanic can remove a power window motor in about 30 minutes. Disconnect the battery by turning the positive terminal bolt in a counterclockwise direction with a wrench. Lay the terminal aside, away from the battery. Remove the power window switches by prying up the switch assembly and disconnecting it from the wiring harness by pulling the terminals apart. Remove the door panel by turning the interior door handle screws counterclockwise then turning the arm rest bolts counterclockwise as well. Some models may have additional bolts or screws; check the panel before continuing. Pry the door panel from the metal by pulling firmly on the panel to disengage the pop rivets. These plastic pop rivets can
