You don’t have to be a lumberjack or work with raw wood to get one. Just picking up tree limbs can sometimes stick you with a nagging little injury. A tiny splinter of wood jammed into your finger that is too small to grasp with tweezers but not so deep as to require a trip to the hospital emergency room. Wash the affected body part with ordinary soap and water, rinsing well and pat dry with a clean towel. Moisten a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and wipe down the area of flesh where the splinter is embedded. Moisten another cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and wipe down the needle, being careful not to prick yourself. Grasp the body part firmly and thrust it under a lamp or other strong light source. Wash the body part with soap and water. For dramatic effect
