For home computers, this may be cumbersome for someone who does not need to protect the machine from unauthorized, physical access. For that reason, a user can choose to automatically log-in and remove the password from the boot-up process. Click the Windows “Start button” in the Task bar. This opens a menu. Select “Run.” Enter “Control userpasswords2” into the text box that is displayed. This opens a configuration window for the user names and passwords on the Windows XP machine.
