How Do You Remove A Whirlaway Garbage Disposal?
Every now and then a garbage disposal will need to be replaced. It doesn’t happen very often, but occasionally a solid object will get wedged inside the disposal’s mechanisms and cause it to break. There are a few key factors in choosing the right garbage disposal replacement. Stainless steel parts mean no corrosion, and the disposal should have no less than a 1/2 horsepower motor. Whirlaway garbage disposals are one of the more popular brands. They come with stainless steel parts and have finely tuned motors. If you have a broken Whirlaway garbage disposal, read the following steps on how to remove it in order to install a replacement. Twist off the lock-nut on the top of the disposal and the bottom of the drain pipe. Wiggle the drain pipe so it loosens from inside the garbage disposal. Insert a screwdriver into one of the metal flanges on the top of the disposal. Slowly unscrew the top clockwise. Because it is only a rubber gasket, be careful not to tear it by unscrewing it too fast.
