How Do You Remove A Vehicles Radiator Hose And Wiring Brackets?
To access the alternator in most vehicles, you will need to remove the radiator hose and wiring brackets. This is a fairly simple process, if you are familiar with each of those parts and aren’t afraid to get a little dirty in the process. Use a flat-head screwdriver or 5/16 socket, depending on the bolt, to loosen the radiator hose clamp. Slide it down the hose a bit and tighten it slightly to keep it in place. This will prevent it from falling off, when you flip the hose out of the way. Notice your coolant level, if it is high or has a significant amount of fluid in it you need to drain it. Locate the spicket in either the bottom right or left corner and drain the fluid into the clean, empty container. You should only need to drain out about a half a gallon.
