How Do You Remove A Tire From A Bike Rim?
Removing a bike tire from a rim can be challenging if you’ve never done it before. You can remove the tire easily from the rim with a tire lever (a special flat tool available at bike shops) or you can remove the tire with a screwdriver or household butter knife. It’ll save you ten bucks if you change your inner tube yourself, and once you get the hang of it, you’ll wonder why you ever paid anyone to change your tire in the past. Here’s how to wrestle that tire off without breaking a nail or cursing your bike. The key is leverage, common sense and patience. Remove cap from inner tube. Use your bike pump to release air out of the tire. This will make the tire looser on the rim. Take your tire lever or screwdriver and carefully stick the flat end between the tire and the rim. Push the screwdriver or lever up, and pull the tire up and over the rim slightly. Be very careful not to puncture the inner tube with any sharp edges of the tools. Slide the screwdriver or lever a few inches farther
