How Do You Remove A Stuck Oil Pan Plug Every Time?
The other day I took my car to a quickie lube place to get my oil changed and the mechanic told me they couldn’t remove the oil plug because the plug was over tightened and the corners of the bolt were rounded off. He asked me to sign a waver so they could throw everything they had at it and still they couldn’t remove it. So here is what I did to get it off after three nights and several different failed attempts. Step 1 Place the small box-end wrench over the bolt. Make sure the wrench is smaller than the bolt, small enough that it won’t fit over the bolt at all. Step 2 Hammer the wrench onto the blot. The metal of an oil pan plug is soft and the hammering should start to smash the bolt into the wrench. Step 3 Take the larger box-end wrench or cheater bar and place on the smaller wrench that is now hammered onto the bolt. Slowly turn the bolt (righty tighty, lefty loosey) about a half turn. Step 4 Once you turn the bolt about a half turn take the hammer and knock the wrench off the pl
