Spark plug wires are the wire that house a boot on the end connecting the spark plug to the distributor or coil, depending on your vehicle. Disconnect the wire from one spark plug at a time to avoid confusion and mixing up the wires, which need to be connected to particular spark plugs in order to work properly. Pull firmly, jiggling slightly, on the boot at the end of the spark plug wire. It should come off easily if there is no corrosion.
