How Do You Remove A Smoke Smell From A Polyester Nylon Jacket?
Smoke leaves an unpleasant smell on clothing, especially items made of synthetic fibers, such as polyester nylon, which absorb odors. The odor can be removed if you have a couple of common household supplies and bit of time. Fill the washing machine, using the normal wash cycle and hot water setting, and add two cups of white vinegar and one-half cup of baking soda. Place the jacket into the washing machine and stop the wash cycle. Allow the jacket to sit in the vinegar solution overnight. Re-start the machine and finish the wash cycle Remove the jacket from the washer and allow to air dry. Fill three-quarters of a spray bottle with hot water. Add 3 tbsp. of white vinegar and 1 tsp. of baking soda to the spray bottle. Spray the entire garment with the solution. Allow the jacket to air dry in the sun.
