How Do You Remove A Drain Pump From A Whirlpool Washing Machine?
When your washing machine no longer drains properly, it means you either have something clogging the drain pump or drain hose or it means that the drain pump has failed. If you feel confident enough to disassemble your washer, you can save money by replacing the pump yourself rather than have a service technician do it. Follow the steps below to remove the drain pump from both top- and front-loading Whirlpool washers. Unplug the washer and remove the mounting screws to the top console and open the console. It’s on hinges. Disconnect the wires going to the lid switch and use your screwdriver to remove the two clips that attach the cabinet to the back of the washer. Tilt the top of the cabinet forward and pull it away from the washer. Remove the clips holding the pump to the motor shaft. Put your bucket under the pump and take the clamps off the hoses. Pull the pump toward you to remove it from the motor shaft. Unplug the washer. Remove the three screws along the bottom of the toe panel
