The following will help you in your efforts of raising the dent. Step 1 Sand the dented area with the grain lightly. Do this to the brim of the dent as well. This will remove any paint or stain on the wood’s surface. Step 2 Drop one to three drops of water into the hole. A smaller dent would only require one drop while a larger dent may require more. Step 3 Allow it to penetrate a few minutes. Step 4 Check to see if the dent has risen. If so congratulations, if not continue with the following steps. Step 5 Cover the dent with a damp cloth.
