Removing the cartridge of your Moen kitchen faucet is fairly straightforward. You will disassemble your faucet to expose the cartridge and remove it. You can then replace the cartridge and reassemble the faucet. There are two styles of Moen cartridge faucet. With the older model, the entire handle is pulled out and pushed in towards the base to turn the water on and off. With the newer style, only part of the handle is lifted to control the water flow. The newer style has more parts, so reaching the cartridge will be more time consuming. Pry off the cap of the handle with a screwdriver. Loosen the newly-exposed handle retaining screw and lift off the handle. If the screw is stripped and cannot be removed, drill out the screw or break off the handle and buy a replacement.
