How Do You Remove A Bathtub Faucet?

0

Replacing the faucet and other fixtures in your bathroom is a simple job that can convert the room from drab to fab. Before installing new fixtures, you may need to remove the old ones. Use some elbow grease to remove the bathtub faucet and other fixtures. Find a screw at the bottom of the faucet closer to the tub base. Take this screw out. Twist the spout counterclockwise, if it moves, to find the screw. Remove the screw and place the handle of the screwdriver inside the faucet spout. Use the screwdriver handle as leverage to twist the spout loose. Continue twisting counterclockwise until the entire faucet is off the pipe protruding from the wall. Look for a second screw that attaches an inner fixture if it doesn’t come off in one piece. Take that screw out, and your entire faucet should come off the pipe. Twist back and forth if the bathtub faucet is loose but won’t come off completely. There may be some caulk or glue holding the faucet to the pipe.
