How Do You Remove A Bathtub Faucet From A Mobile Home?

Mobile home bathtub faucets are usually one-piece assemblies that include both water handles, the tub spout and a lever to send water to the shower head. They mount on the surface of the wall above the tub and are held in place with nuts inside the wall. Mobile home shower faucets are installed the same way–they just don’t have a spout. To remove either kind of faucet from a mobile home, you need to get into the wall behind the tub. Leave the faucet assembly intact. You can’t remove the faucet by taking it apart or removing the handles. Shut off the main water supply to the mobile home. Look for the main shutoff valve near your water heater. If it’s not there, it’s probably in the crawlspace underneath the mobile home. Drain the water out of the supply lines by turning the faucet handles fully open. Open up the wall behind the faucet. In many mobile homes, the “wet wall” holding the bathtub plumbing has a removable back panel. If yours has such a panel, remove it and skip to Step 8. I
