Removing your bathtub’s faucet and spout generally entails two separate processes. Most modern bathtub faucet and spouts are separate fixtures. Each process is easy and quick. You may need to remove the bathtub faucet and spout because you are upgrading to a new style or are replacing the bathtub or wall. Turn off the water supply via the water supply valves. These should be located near the bathtub in a hidden panel, closet or might be in the laundry room. If they cannot be located, call the local water company and have them turnoff the house main supply valve. Drain the water from the faucet by turning it on all the way. Clean the faucet and spout with vinegar and a sponge to remove any lime scale that may prevent quick removal. Remove the securing screw using a screwdriver or Allen wrench.
