How Do You Relieve The Burning Of Pepper Spray?
Pepper spray is a chemical compound made from capsaicin oil that irritates the eyes. Capsaicin is the same ingredient that makes chili peppers taste so hot. If you are unfortunate enough to experience being sprayed in the eyes with any type of pepper spray, the first thing to do is not panic. The burn will be excruciating, but before you go rushing to the closest sink and start throwing water into your eyes, first find yourself the following items (or, if you can’t see, ask someone else to get them for you–quickly). While this solution will not completely erase the burning from the pepper spray, it will alleviate it quickly. Only time will completely heal the burning effects. Leave the location where the pepper spray was sprayed, being careful not to touch anything, specifically your eyes or your face. Get to the closest sink, but do not rinse the eyes with water. Blink vigorously–the more you blink, the more natural tears you will bring to your eyes, helping to dilute the capsaicin
