You can’t run and you can’t hide from periods. They are inevitable. The cramps that come with them are inevitable too. You can minimize the pain to almost nothing though. Take a warm bath. The heat will relax your muscles. You can also place a water bottle filled with warm water on your lower stomach. Cuddle up in a soft warm blanket and go to sleep! Cramps could tire you out and usually, when you wake up, you will feel much better. Drink chamomile tea. It helps soothe cramps. Don’t eat salty foods. They make you feel bloated. Eat fruits and vegetables instead. Do some gentle exercise such as a bike ride. It will increase oxygen to your muscles thus relieving your cramps. Read a book to take your mind off your cramps. If you still feel bad, take a pain reliever. Visit your doctor if pain relievers don’t work.
