How Do You Relieve Indigestion Without Antacids?
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night with heartburn or indigestion only to find out you have NO antacids? It’s happened to me and I’ve found a few things that work. Next time try one of these remedies instead! Drink a glass of milk. The milk will neutralize the acid and help reduce your heartburn quickly. It does not matter if it’s whole milk or skim milk – any milk will do. I’ve found this to be the most effective heartburn remedy other than antacids and it works the quickest too! Eat a piece of plain bread. Eating bread will absorb any acid in your stomach and help to lessen your discomfort. Chew gum – minty flavored gum works best. Or eat a spearmint or peppermint candy like a life saver, or hard candy. Have someone rub or pat your back. It will help break up the indigestion and give you comfort within minutes.
