How Do You Relieve Gout With Comfrey?
Gout is also called inflammatory arthritis. It usually affects the toes or fingers with extreme swelling and extreme joint pain. It’s caused by a build-up of uric acid in the joints. There are many treatments for gout, including a comfrey poultice. Purchase fresh comfrey from herbal stores, such as Mountain Rose Herbs. Grind a 3-5 leaves of fresh comfrey in a mortar or in a food processor. Add a 3 tablespoons of water to the comfrey. Bring the mixture to a boil and then take it off the heat. You should have created a paste. You may be able to do this in the microwave, though the stove would be best. Spread the paste between 2 pieces cotton cloth and place the cotton onto the area affected by gout. Leave in place for no less than 2 hours. Overnight is best, though ideally you should be making a new poultice every 4 hours.
