Not a winter has passed without one (or all) of my children coming down with a horrible cold. The kind that has them completely congested and stuffed up. Usually they are fine until the minute they lay down to go to sleep. Without gravity on their side their noses quickly stuff up and they are unable to breath or sleep. Then the cough usually starts. With many children’s cough and cold medicines pulled off the shelves in recent times, I rely on the age-old advice of my mother to help get my children through the congestion. Before bedtime turn on the shower and let the hot water flow. Close the door. Let the bathroom get nice and steamy.
