There are a number of reasons why you might need to reinstall Windows XP. The biggest problem with reinstalling, however, is that it can result in the loss of a lot of data if you didn’t back it all up before the beginning of the installation process. It is possible to reinstall Windows XP without this loss of data occurring, though; while it won’t provide as “clean” of an installation as a standard install, you won’t have to worry about accidentally losing valuable files, and you might even complete the installation much faster. Insert the Windows XP installation disc while signed into a Windows XP Administrator account. The disc will begin the Autorun process; while you would normally cancel this and reboot the computer to begin installing, allow it to launch the Windows XP setup program instead.
